The Dress

A beautiful Amanda Wakeley coat from their Ragastan collection. This coat was a pleasure and a delight to wear on my wedding day.

The coat was not altered at all. It is an Amanda Wakeley size 12. Here is the Amanda Wakeley size guide for their sizes:

I wore big 3 to 4 inch heels and am 5 foot 6 and 3/4 so didn't even have to have the coat taken up. I am also selling the dress which I will put as another listing. Both the coat and the dress are made of the most beautiful mikado silk. I think this is a perfect dress to wear for a colder wedding. The collar was amazing and the stitching on the coat itself had the seamstress marvel in delight! This coat is beautiful to wear. It's a fantastic coat.

It is a very simple coat in many ways but it is a quality piece of design and fit. The bottom part of the coat is A line and skimmed over my hips perfectly (though I suppose it would fit smaller or bigger bottomed people as it only closes with one hoop under the bust area. I put a silver brooch over it that I just picked up from accessorize to add a focal point for the dress. I'm happy to throw this in too if someone wants it.

The fit around the bust area was a bit big for me perhaps - but I don't think it really mattered as it is after all a coat!

There is a long train on this coat - it's not the Cathedral length one but the one smaller than that - I think it was maybe around a meter and a half.

The coat has now been professionally cleaned costing 100GBP by specialised cleaners and is now as if it had left the designers workshop. Do get in touch. I'm hoping to use the money from the coat to go on holiday! If you want to buy the dress too (the same fabric - not Amanda Wakeley but still Mikado silk. I'd be happy to sell that as well.
