The Dress

Beautiful Maggie Sottero ‘Winstyn’ wedding gown. Dreamy ivory lace and tulle over light gold silk combine to create this elegant fit and flare wedding dress; accented with timeless sweetheart neckline.

The dress is a label size 14, but I was closer to a size 10-12 so it has been altered to fit. I am 160cm and wore 10cm high heels.

This dress was purchased second hand and has been professionally cleaned. It is in excellent condition and has spare buttons. Certificate of authenticity from designer Maggie Sottero is also provided.
The dress has built in cups and boning for support, with an elastic bra-like closure and zip, covered with buttons to finish. I wear a size 12E and did not need to wear a bra on the day.

I had alterations done by an expert dress maker. During alterations, I had the dress taken up off the ground and a bustle added to fold the skirt up for dancing in the evening, it is hidden in the seams and invisible when the skirt is down.

I also had straps made from the tulle taken from the bottom of the dress. On the day of the wedding, I wore the straps in an off the shoulder fashion for the ceremony and photos. I then wore them over the shoulder for the rest of the evening. The dress maker who added the straps said that they can be easily removed.
