The Dress

A stunning ivory, ball grown dress by Maggie Sottero. It has a beautiful tight corset with embroidered roses/flowers and a large layered skirt with a long train. The silk base of the skirt is covered by delicate 'mesh' layers (also embroidered with flowers) which give it a magical, etherial quality. I really did feel like a princess in it!

It is a US 6 (ie. UK size 10) but i am a UK 6 - i just wore the corset fully done up at the back. It could therefore easily be suited to a size 6 to 10 (or even 12) as you could just adjust the corset to your size. The adjustable corset top and larger skirt just make it very versatile.

It was worn for my wedding in May 2014 (but purchased earlier). I only wore it for a couple of hours for my wedding ceremony as I wore a different dress for the reception. It has been wrapped in my wardrobe since but even though I love it, I am finally ready for it to find a new home and make another bride's day!

I'm a size 6 so the dress was a little big for me around the bust so i had the 3 fasteners on the corset back moved in so that i could do the corset up more tightly. These could easily be moved back so that the corset could be worn in a 'v' shape rather than fully tied up in a line (as i wore it).

There are some brown marks underneath the dress but these can't be seen when worn. There is a brown mark on the bottom of the silk part of the dress and a little discolouration on a little bit of the edging. However this can barely be seen because of the layered fabric over the top. I haven't had this professionally dry cleaned so you could have this done if you wanted to, but it really looks great on already.
