The Dress

I purchased this wedding dress from the Pronovias shop in London, England in June of 2015, for my August 2015 wedding. I had already put a deposit down on a dress in Toronto, but since my sister lived in London and I was visiting, we thought we would check out this boutique. The minute I saw this dress, I had to try it on!

The dress is part of the Pronovias 2016 collection and had just arrived the day that I tried it on. I am tall and have curves and had a really hard time finding a dress that I liked. When I tried on THIS dress, I realized immediately that I was only settling for the one that I had put a deposit on and that this was actually THE ONE. I fell in love immediately. It fit perfectly and the only adjustment needed was a very slight shortening of the strap. I had that and the bustle done at the shop. I also loved the deep back which I never thought I could wear (and no bra needed!) and the draping at the front, which I found to be very slimming. The dress flew back home with me and stayed perfectly packaged until my wedding day.

For my wedding, I wore an Indian Saree for the wedding ceremony and day events. I wore this dress only for the evening cocktail party. Afterwards it was sent for professional dry cleaning and has been sitting in its bag without being touched.

The dress is described as a flared wedding dress encrusted with gemstones and made of draped satin. It has a draped bodice with sweetheart neckline and straps adorned with gemstones front and back. This dress is stunning.

Note: I would say the street size is between a 14 and 16.
