The Dress

This dress is absolutely stunning, unique, and incredibly comfortable. This is the BHLDN Perdita gown (https://www.bhldn.com/product/perdita-gown). I am so glad I chose it for my wedding! The dress has a unique construction. The internal polyester is a stretchy, smooth, yoga pant type fabric. The overlay is an embroidered mesh that looks like a modern take on lace. I've never seen anything like it. It has a small train that adds to the elegance. The dress is so stretchy and comfortable that you could literally do yoga in it! It is also very lightweight. The perfect choice for summer.

Post-wedding, the dress is in excellent condition. I was worried about sending it to a dry cleaner because of the harsh chemicals they use. I gently washed it by hand using Woolite at home. It looks like new. The last four photos are of the dress as it is right now. Photo #7 shows the bra cups and plastic tape on the inside of the dress, mentioned in the alterations section. Photo #8 shows the train and clear bustle button toward the top of the photo. I have combed over the dress, and there are no stains, with the exception being some very, very minor greying on small parts of the very bottom of the hem. This is virtually invisible - you can't see it in photo #8 for example, which is pretty close up. You have to be looking for it up close to see it. I only mention it to be fully transparent. I would want to know everything about a used dress I was considering buying!

Alterations

The dress was hemmed, brought in a touch at the hips, had a bustle button and loop added, and soft bra cups added. The bra cups are like the liners in a swim suit, not push up. My seamstress also gently stitched in clear plastic tape (non-sticky) along the inside of the neckline and around the armholes. This was helpful because I have sensitive skin and the mesh part of the gown rubbed a little at those points - this took care of it. The tape could also easily be removed. I still have the extra fabric from the hem. I am 5'5" and wore the dress with flats.
