The Dress

I actually bought this dress off of a woman who was selling it on this website EXCEPT she had never worn it! So I am the first person to wear it.

I couldn’t tell you what size it is now for sure but I will be glad to share my measurements in general. But the good news is with the the corset back you have some wiggle room to mess with the size of it! I will also post below how long the skirt is in the front and how tall the heels I wore are. I am also not a tall person. I am 5’ 1 3/4” so almost 5’2”.

The seamstress did a really wonderful job and even included a way to pin it up. Because of the weight of the dress and the amount of fabric she had to use five hooks which you can’t see. The loop to attach to the hooks actually grabs onto every layer so it pins it all. Or underneath the dress is a pearl loop which you can put around your wrist, but the dress is very heavy.

The venue this dress was worn at was in a barn at first and then we were moved to another building.

If you’re going for the whimsicle princess look this is definitely the dress for you! I absolutely adore this dress. My flower girl even asked her mom when she was going to see the princess again! I also think this dress is perfect for any type of woodsy look!

Alterations

The bodice got take in as well as around the armpit/cup area. The first woman had the cups to fit DD size but I am no where close, I wear about a B size cup. So she took in as much as she could to get the front top as close to my body as possible but she also added in push ups into the cups.

The dress was also super long in the front and I am very short so she actually cut off a lot of lace of the bottom and then just blended in the fancy bottom into the next section of lace.

Then like mentioned above, she added five hooks in the back in order to pin the bustle. She included loops that attach every layer together that can be hooked onto the hooks. The picture shows how you would pin that and fold it. You would start by pinning the outsides first and then leave the middle one for last.
