The Dress

Classic Jenny Packham elegance with a art nouveau/boho twist. The 'Claire' has a beautiful vintage look and feel with a touch of Old Hollywood glamour. This model also suits ethnic styling very well and I wore a pearl, Indian style head trinket like the one in the official photograph.

It comprises a flattering silk slip with spaghetti straps with a delicate, light tulle overlay which is embellished with intricate beading in iconic and instantly recognisable Jenny Packham style. Delicate capped sleeves give the dress an elegant feminine finish.

I am a regular size UK 10 but occasionally wear a 12 across the bust. It wouldn't fit me in this area now after children but on my wedding day it fitted and flowed beautifully and I felt like a million dollars. It is light and comfortable to wear.

The hemline was shortened by a professional bridal seamstress to fit me. I am 5'7'' and wore flip flops on my wedding day. The dress was floor length on me with a slight trail behind from the curving of the hem at the back (it dips down slightly).

There are no tears to the tulle as far as I have been able to see. There is one tiny loose thread at the back of the dress which can easily be professionally fixed (shown in picture).

The whole dress (silk sheath and overlay) was professionally dry cleaned by Emily May, the dry cleaner specifically recommended by Jenny Packham, immediately after wear and has been stored boxed in layers of tissue paper ever since.

My husband and I eloped to marry at Edinburgh Castle and the dress caused a stir among the tourists! We have enjoyed a solid and happy marriage ever since so I hope a little bit of this dress's magic can make its way to a new owner. I will be sad to let go of it but it's time to let it move on!
