The Dress

Classy, elegant, and tastefully sexy: I felt so beautiful in this dress and received so many compliments! It's backless with sleeves, so it shows a little skin, and its buttons from the waist down give the floor-length dress extra special detail on the back. The attached beaded belt is such a beautiful part of the design. I loved the shorter train! The dress is really comfortable, too. I wore it for 10+ hours straight, and not once felt like I needed to take it off (not scratchy or too constraining!). It's in near perfect condition. The only damage is that some of the hem in the train is a little loose. It's only noticeable if you're looking VERY close at it. I had it professionally cleaned and preserved after I wore it.

I am 5'6", 140 pounds, D cup, and usually a US street size 6. (Bust: 36 in, waist: 30 in, hip: 37 in.) I wore flats for my wedding and the dress just skims the floor.

Alterations

Mikaella dresses must be made for very tall women; I am a very consistent US street size 6 (5'6", 140 pounds) and needed to buy a size 12 to fit my bust and waist. That being said, I had the sleeves, shoulders, hips, and front hemline altered to fit me. I also had the train shortened by about 1/1.5 feet, I liked it without the bulk because I wanted to dance all night at my reception (which I did!). The bustle is light and flattering.
