The Dress

This bespoke ball gown and matching jacket were designed and made by exclusive West End couturier, Christine Kendall - they are unique, one-off creations and are in beautiful condition.

The skirt is full circle, made of ivory thai silk with a double layer of voile on top for a floaty, poetic look. The hem undulates softly and the tule underskirt creates a flattering silouhette. The dress has an additional, detachable underskirt for the train, which will show it off in its full glory when walking down the isle. The skirt and train are scattered with delicate applique lace rose motifs subtlely placed to lead the eye on a 'journey' around the skirt. The skirt flares out beautifully when dancing.

The bodice is also thai silk, with thai silk rouching around the waist for a flattering, 'nipped in' look and hand-covered buttons running down the back. It has an inbuilt lace-up fully boned corset.

The jacket is made of a double layer of voile with applique lace trimming (matching the lace on the skirt). The three-quarter length sleeves puff out gently towards the edge, for a vintage, demure, 'fairy-tale princess' look.

I felt so beautiful (and incredibly comfortable!) in this dress and so many guests remarked on how exquisitely elegant and flattering it was. Several of my engaged friends have since gone to the same designer. The quality of the fabrics and cut, and the subtle details on the dress and jacket made it worth every penny. I didn't want to take it off at the end and wish I could hold on to it forever.
